Politics - Going to the Dogs

I've really gotten to enjoy the thought provoking posts I find at Generation Cedar. Todays was, as usual, quite good. I've also enjoyed her posts on dating and courting over the last several days.

Her post today pointed to a post called, Sit, Stay, Roll Over

They are political in nature. A topic Tim and I have discussed quite a bit - the growing downhill slide into Socialism of our country.

This only gives one side of the picture. The Demagraphic Winter post I did a few days ago, gives another point of view.

This is a huge elephant of a problem. And we grope around it looking at first one aspect and then another, blame goes here and blame goes there. Truthfully - you could write dozens of huge thick volumes on why people do what they do or think what they think. And just when you think you have it all figured out - someone goes and throws a new angle into it.

Reminds me of the poem about the blind men who went to see an elephant and each had hold of a differnt part, and each was sure that they had a good idea what the elephant looked like.

What about the aspect of Health Care in the USA?
Or how Food affects our Health?
Or the Economic Crash?

Why is Tim and so many others that we know, struggling to find jobs? It's been almost 8 months now.

How do you eat an elephant?

One bite at a time.

It has shocked me how much socialism and secularism and materialism and such have been major building blocks of the way I thought (and often still catch myself thinking). Where in the world did I pick them all up? We were not the "Sunday go to meeting Christians" type. I came from good sturdy pioneer Bible believing stock.

Fortunately, I guess it's fortunate, I have a gift for being able to see a bigger picture and analyze things. It didn't take me long to realize that I had picked up most of it in public schools and the rest from books I had read and even from "shockingly" sermons that I had heard.

But how to get all that information out of my head and into one tiny post? Besides - I long since have realized that most do not have the same gifts that I have (ever seen me try to decorate a cake? - LOL) - and that would cause information overload in most everybody.

So here you have the elephant's tail (or is the dog's tail?).... or maybe the nose. Hmmm... yes, if you have read the "Humanist Manifesto" then this would have to be the nose.

I'll stop rambling now. Thanks for listening.
