July 16 - July 21 Puzzles, Packing, and Sunsets

July 16

Her first
and only
letter from her Pen Pal.

I think Vannan helped her send a letter back as well.

Joel made this,
and sent it to HIS pen pal.

Celery experiment.

July 19

Puzzles

This spot has been filed and emptied around a dozen times since July.
We are cleaning house to get ready for my Aunt's arrival in 3 1/2 weeks.
Yikes - it is getting REALLY close.

Cutting

Playing with a magnifying book mark ....

July 20

Rue talked Daddy into MARKERS!

While showing the camera,
she started making the goofiest faces.

July 21

Bali hung out with us one day
while Mom and brothers did something else.

There was the most amazing sunset that night
the air was so orange...
I had to take pictures,
but these just don't do it justice.

Looking East
standing between my house and my Dad's house.

July 8 - July 12 AND Family News Updates

July 8

Jr. Church ... making Breastplate's of Righteousness
Eating more of Vannan's cake
Strawberry Red and Grape Purple
She loves Vannan's Winnie the Pooh collections.
Vannan is delighted that she never actually got rid of them all.
July 9
This is her "car" and "car seat" for her baby.
July 10
Homemade bean Chili - with fritos
This one was made with chicken.
Proof that we don't always have beans AND rice.
July 11
Sorting plastic silverware.
Helping move a microwave cart for a garage sale
for her aunts.
She almost fell asleep there.
Vannan couldn't wait any longer,
and did up all of the tie dye left overs from her party.
Her favorite 2 skirts were looking very pale ...
I think we are going to have to redo the blue jean one,
maybe both of them,
and set them inside of the solar oven for a whole day to set the colors better.
July 12
We got the kitchen out of storage.
LaRue was so EXCITED.
After 14 years ... it is still in really good shape,
the microwave window is broken out,
but we still have the phone,
the coffee pot,
and everything else looked great after washing it.
And she hasn't stopped playing with it yet.
We can't find most of the food that went with it though,
so Joel has made a little out of cardboard,
and she improvises with blocks and such.
And she calls her friends multiple times a day,
or else Grandma.
Rinsing more tie dye items.
With several large items out of the house,
we were able to bring
Vannan's ... Joel's ... LaRue's desk out of storage as well.
She is SO excited that she gets her own school desk this year.
And not just a booster seat at the table.
Rue takes very good care of her dog.
She shares with her whenever she can.
Toffee just had her 8th birthday.
(not in July ... in September at this posting)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A bit of news ...
In 2 weeks, R3 and R4 will be doing a big "It's GOT to GO" Garage Sale.
LaRue turns 3 in 3 weeks.
Aunt V will be arriving in just over 4 weeks.
LaRue's birthday party is in 5 weeks.
If you know me and I know you and you actually have my physical address
 ... you are invited.
I think 90% of my readers are actually friends and relatives.
Girlfriend wants a PINK SPARKLES party.
She has ordered a Chocolate Cake with Pink icing.
She can't decide whether she wants cherry or strawberry.
She is planning balloons and eggs for the party.
So her mother (that's me)
says we'll have pink balloons to take home
(no, they won't float - helium is not in the budget - only hot air.)
And I'm thinking about filling a bunch of eggs with confetti and a tiny bit of glitter
and letting the kids find those.
Our candy supply is down to suckers,
and those don't fit into eggs too well.
Plus,
I'll put Kendra in charge of making bracelets
and Vannan in charge of crowns.
So there will be two crafts to enjoy and take home
as well as the balloons
full of hot air.
Here is her wish list
She says she wants
1.  Innotab 2 (pink with a camera)
2.  snacks for her tummy (dried fruit, chocolate, nuts, peanut butter, raisins, cereal, etc.)
3. snacks to cook in her kitchen  (fake food)
4. sparkly dance shoes for church - size 10
5.  a big girl water bottle (like Vannan's and Mommy's) - pink
Funny girl.
You should hear her say this,
because each item has to be acted out,
sung about,
and danced to a tune only she can hear.
And she never deviates from that list.
Which I find hilarious.
We are managing to do a little school each morning,
and sorting and cleaning all of the rest of each day.
We are once again without water - leak somewhere under the kitchen ... again.
It may be 4 weeks before Dad has time to fix it.
And we have to wait for the water to go away that is puddled under the house as well.
Pray for my Dad, as there is still a LONG list of "to do" before Aunt V arrives.
We could probably use some extra help if anyone has time.
Ceilings, Floors, moving furniture, painting, redoing bathrooms, dishwashers, plumbing, and lots more!
We would love some help unloading the moving van late October.
It will arrive some time between Oct. 20 and Oct. 27.
Probably the 24th or 25th.
I'll have Kendra make a giant crock pot of her Chili for anyone who comes to help,
and Vannan will make up a big pot of Chicken Rice.
We have a brand new address.
We didn't move,
just somebody (not us) decided that we needed 3 addresses for our property.
Ask me if you need the new house number.
But I will be sending it out at Christmas.
I'm planning to do the cards first,
right after Thanksgiving.
Volleyball season is well under way - Tim refs 2 - 4 games each week.
Keep us in your prayers on Oct. 4.
All day.
I'll be able to tell you about it AFTER it is all over,
at least a tiny bit,
I hope.
If you go back 3 years (almost)on the blog posts
you can probably figure out the general "what is going on".
I'm praying for closer,
and a good testimony.
Vannan is praying that she will very soon
be able to get back into her violin lessons.
She is now practicing on her violin,
and a little keyboard piano.
She has an above average talent for music,
and it is wonderful to see her using it.
Kendra is on the verge of getting her next book published.
She also did some tweaks to her "Sew, It's a Quest."
Mostly typos - but she added a few conversations as well.
"Do You Take This Quest" will be available very shortly.
Joel is excited to be getting his own room.
Grandma bought him a gallon of yellow paint,
plus we still need some floor goop stuff to redo that floor
after Tim has rolled his chair on it for 6 years.
And that has to be done ASAP,
so anyone who would like to come help paint walls,
you would be very welcome.
You would be welcome to stay for supper as well.
Much love to all of my readers.
If you can't come help physically,
please keep us in your prayers.
