Nov 1 - 12 Months with Jess

They are old friends now,
after taking their pictures together 12 times.

We forgot to take pictures last month,
but maybe we will remember the 14 months tomorrow?

Oct 26 and 27 - Happy LaRue

What makes LaRue happy?

Pens and paper

(she has no clue that she is holding a Tide spot treater pen)

She is happily exploring all the neat things Tim keeps in his reffing bag.

See! Paper!

And the froggie outfit was given to Vannan as a baby
It's one of the few that my sisters have asked to borrow!

Isn't she so cute!

Love that froggie!

Snuggling with Daddy

She really is a Daddy's girl.

And a snuggly doll.

Joel's MP bear.

LaRue Birthday Presents

Joel gave her his ball and telephone
and with his Christmas money
he bought her a bath toy.

Esther gave her the doll that Joel gave to Esther
when Esther turned 1.

Grandma and Grandpa gave her a pretty dress.
The phone was more interesting.

They also gave her a car seat -
which is also part of her Christmas.

I'm sure she'll be happy with paper and bows.

Aunt Cindy and uncle Tommy
gave her an electric toy turtle.

One of her favorite gifts.

You should have seen her reaction when all the little
kids reached over to play with it.

Major objections!

She was also given some money,
which we put into diapers.

And a toy train.

And a police car from Matthew.

And an outfit from Mamaw and Papaw,
but we had to exchange it for the next size up.
And ended up with a different outfit,
as we didn't find that one.
It was really cute - just too small.

LaRue is wearing 18 month clothes,
and I expect to have to start pulling 24 month sizes
by February.

She also just moved into size 5 shoes.
What a shock, as she was size 3 all summer.

But they were sandles and she was barefoot most of the time.

My Cupcake Kid

She's not a people person.
And it was beginning to approach nap time.

She LOVED the cupcake.

Just that sticky icing kept getting in the way.

She could SEE the chocolate,
but couldn't figure out how to taste it.

So I scooped most of it off in the end.

She happily ate MOST of the cupcake.

And she didn't make a big mess either, she's a bit on the dainty side.

Oct 24 - LaRue's First Birthday Cake

Kendra made the cake

it is suppose to be a cupcake animal cracker carousel.

Kendra had a great time using Grammy's cake supplies.

She is NOT an extrovert.

and she is a master of the dead pan look.

She did try to blow out her own candle though.

And Aunt Cindy made her the cute outfit and bow.
Isn't it CUTE!

We had a big pot luck dinner at our church.

Our family had been through so much ...

She is named after my mom
- whom we lost on Mother's day while I was about 16 or 17 weeks pregnant with LaRue.
Mom picked out her name.

Then I had a rougher pregnancy than with Joel
and ended up delivering her in the hospital
rather than her planned home birth.
Thankfully, not a C-Section.

Then at 6 weeks, there was the car accident ...
and the week in the hospital with her.

And everything we went though with Aunt Karen and baby Paul.

And the ongoing status of "needing a job".

So we had a potluck.
Invited all our friends and family.
Celebrated new life.
New beginnings.
And happy Nows.

Because it's not an ending yet.
And tomorrow is no guarantee.

God is Good - All the Time.

Sep 11 - LaRue Playing

She loves playing with Toffee.

Vannan and Aunt Cindy made this little gown.
Isn't it CUTE!

This is one of my major favorite cute dresses.
Aunt Cindy made it.

It was so comfortable, that by the end of summer,
she was pulling it out to wear all by herself.

Aunt Cindy has her own Etsy Store - This Ones' Mine
And a Facebook page by the same name.

She's got some great deals posted on her FB business page.

Sept 30 - Hand Me Downs

Late Spring,
Aunt Cindy made a whole bunch of clothes for the nieces.

This dress was made for Miya.
She just handed it down to LaRue.
Isn't it CUTE.

She wasn't walking yet.
But she started cruising around 8 1/2 months.

She started walking the last week of October -
I wrote it down in Facebook ...
somewhere.

So Vannan remains my earliest walker,
and Joel my latest walker.

LaRue and Kendra pretty much tied
at about 2 weeks past their first birthday's.

Joel was nearly 15 months old.
I wasn't in any rush.

Late Sept - Learning LaRue

Learning to feed herself
by snitching Mom's plate and eating the crumbs.

Unpacking the clothes that we need to go through
for her to grow into.

She was in 12 month then - she is now in 18 month.
I'm not sure if she will make it until March to move up to the next size,
but we have plenty of winter clothes to move her into!

THE CAR SEAT IN THE BACKGROUND IS FOR SALE.

Learning to write on paper.
(She is also learning NOT to write on walls, floors, and books.)

Playing Games.

Joel made this matching game all by himself.
It was all about feelings.
