Getting Ready for Bed

I told you I was having way too much fun taking pictures.

If I get around to it, I'll put more up on Picasa.

LaRue's Favorite Pose

One of her hands, usually this one, is most often up around her head like this.

The other day she was screaming nonstop.
I finally realized she had a large chunk of her hair in her hand and was pulling with all of her might.

She was much happier when I untangled her fingers for her.

Joel Teaches LaRue her Alphabet

Joel decided to teach LaRue her entire alphabet this weekend.

Don't worry, Kendra is under it all holding onto LaRue.

I think she'd get more out of the lesson if she could see it?

Looks a little overwhelmed doesn't she?

On a side note ... I wonder how long she'll keep that redish blond hair.
Mom always wanted a red headed grandchild.

New Life On A Homestead » Blog Archive » Inexpensive Christmas Gifts- Coupon Codes for 15 FREE Photo Books! (Just pay shipping)

New Life On A Homestead » Blog Archive » Inexpensive Christmas Gifts- Coupon Codes for 15 FREE Photo Books! (Just pay shipping): "With Christmas just around the corner, I’ve been busy figuring out just what I’m going to get everybody this year. I usually make homemade gifts. In the past I’ve made personalized painted mailboxes, jellies, baked goods, Handprint crafts for grandparents, gift baskets, and Christmas ornaments."

Since I’ve found a bunch of coupons for FREE Photo Books, I’ll be making these for gifts this year. I’ve made them in the past and have always been very impressed with the quality. These are especially good gifts for Grandparents. Since my mom and my maternal grandparents are out in California and don’t get to see my children often at all, I thought Photo Books of the kids throughout the year would be a great way to show them what we’ve been up to.

Anyways, my point in telling you all of this is that I wanted to share the coupon codes that I’ve found with you so that you can make your own Photo Books for very cheap. The coupons are for free books, you only pay shipping, which is like $8. Personally, I think eight bucks for a really nice Christmas gift is a great deal!"

-------------------------------------------------------

Click on the title if you are interested in getting the 15 photo books for free. She has all the codes up - one expires on Saturday.

Also, it's a really great blog if you like homesteading. I enjoy it very much.

Sleeping LaRue

Joel brought her a friend to sleep with.

I lay that pillow on my lap when she nurses - it's a buckwheat pillow, and in the pillow case that it is in, it is very hard - more like a boppy.
But we like it better than a boppy.

So when I lay her down, I just transfer baby and pillow and all.
This will only work while she is still smaller than the pillow though.

On my lap - done with dinner.

Groom's Cake

My best friend borrowed Mom's extensive cake supplies (what she needed) to do a groom's cake for her brother.

He wanted CHOCOLATE.

So we had an idea.

Finished product.

Everyone seemed to like it a LOT.

Our Midwife

LaRue makes the 9th baby that our midwife has helped with in the last 6 years.
Mom assisted her for many of those plus 2 other home births.

While she didn't "catch" LaRue ... well, she, or one of the assistants, did everything else.
She DID catch Joel and do all the post partum with him.
She caught 3 of Rhoda's.
And 2 of Karen's.
And both of Ruth's.

Nine babies.
Wow.

By the end of 2009 - my parents will have 24 Grandchildren.
Only 3 of those wil NOT have been delivered by a midwife.
We think that's pretty awsome.

Holding LaRue for the First Time

Patience .... to see LaRue

Here are Kendra, Matthew, Vannan, Bethie, Katie, Joel, Marriana (see the blonde head) and Valarie

waiting outside my room to see LaRue.

Kendra, Vannan, and Joel had already gotten to see her in the birthing room - but the rest were patiently waiting outside.

And they finally got their turn to come see her.

They were amazed at how tiny she was.
Esther had gotten to be such a big baby - now that she is 2.
So LaRue really looked small to them.

LaRue won't be the smallest on the block for long though - there are 2 more babies arriving soon - December and March.
