Cute Little Curl

I just love Kendra's curls.

I saw this one the other day and just had to have a picture.

When she was little we taught her the nursery rhyme

"Once there was a little girl
who had a curl in the middle of her forehead.
When she was good, she was very good,
and When she was bad, she was horrid."

It seemed to fit this impulsive child.

But I STILL love the curls.

Joel has the curls too, but Tim likes to keep his hair too short to see them.
They get the curls from Daddy.

Amazing Flower

This is one of the plants we have from Mom's funeral.

The girls were delighted to see this double headed flower.

Very cool.

Hiding

This is Joel's birthday blanket.
It's yellow.
Favorite color.
Favorite blanket.

Let's hide Joel!

Nobody will know we are here.

They can't see us!

Laughing is heard.

So much fun in a simple blanket.

Too Cute for Words

Our new Nephew Joshua
we all went out on Sunday for lunch and got to spend lots of time hugging and snuggling him.

Joel and the highlight of his day - watermellon.

Adorable.

Goofing Off

Uncle Paul use to dump all his yard clippings (from his business) where our "front yard" is now - for many years. So it's about 2 feet thick of rich BLACK compost. So that's where the kids were directed to dig for dirt to plant their garden.

Kendra LOVES dirt.

So does Joel.

Vannan prefers goats to dirt - and didn't climb into their big holes.

Joel tried out both holes. Here he informed me that he was building a new bathtub and taking a bath.

A Tent for Joel

At Grammy's house, Joel and his cousins make tents and sit them over the air vents to warm up on cold mornings.

So Joel made a tent at home.

And having seen the pictures - he's building a new one.

We're Asleep - Honest!

They were trying to convince me that they were already napping.

These pictures were also posted yesterday - but the internet lost them.

Cute - huh?

It's SNOWING! says Joel

Joel has absolutely NO imagination. None whatsoever. Heh Heh Heh.

The Trek girls made up little snowflake picture frames and put everyone that they could find inside to give out to the kids at the store night.

So I end up with 6 of these things ... somehow Tim got into one and Joel got 2. I gave my mom 1 of those to make over for a child that got missed. And when I got home (amid discussion of whether or not it had snowed earlier in the evening or was it just sneeting.), I put the snowflakes on the cabinet and went to bed.

-------------------------

Late the next day - and it was quite a bit warmer -

Joel INSISTS, "Mummy, id no-ing."

"No, it isn't."

"Yed id ith."

"No, it is not, look outside, it is too warm to snow."

"Id nod no-ing there."

"It's not snowing outside?"

Giggling very hard now, "No, id no-ing on da gwoun."

WHAT?

"Is the ground outside?"

"No, id ober dere!" Pointing back over his shoulder.

Ta - Da!

See ... it WAS snowing!

So he was signing "Snow" for me.

------------------

Nope - not a bit of imagination in that head.

By the way, my floor does not look near so bad as the pictures make it look - it's the old glue where the linolium came off the floor. It has a paperlike feel to it, and anything that drops on it stains it. Someday. my dad will have time to fix the big hole by the front door - and then we will lay something .... at least not so yucky looking. So, it IS cleaner than it looks. Though we had tracked in quite a bit of mud that day with it being wet outside.

Favorite Toy

This is one toy that Joel puts in HOURS with. He is so careful to put all the parts back in the boxes too.

This would not have happened with either one of the girls though!

They are each so unique.

Playing in the snow

We get so little that even playing in fake snow is a treat. Not as cold either.
