Hospital Trip

Around 9:30 this morning we were startled by despirate banging and screaming outside our front door. Not on our door .... but my parents are only a few feet away.

We opened the door and my sister was frantic that we get our parents RIGHT NOW. They have had a long week and were still asleep.

Anthony came to our house crying and upset and fearful that he had nearly killed his brother. Seems he had been practicing his baseball batting and Alex had walked up to him mid-swing.

One of those slow motion moments when the world stands still and you know there is nothing you can do.

Rhoda meanwhile is sobbing on the steps and holding what appears to be a very limp Alex. My parents open the door and bustle them inside. Then Rhoda runs back to her house for Valarie.

Probably 5 - 10 minutes later or so, Alex appears - bleeding has stopped, he's awake and grinning from ear to ear. HE gets to go to the hospital.

He says the hospital was GREAT. He's got 4 stitches - and got to sit on a blue bed, wear a blue shirt, have a blue cloth over him... it was a LOT of blue. Anyone guess what his favorite color might be?

Tim has a nice talk with Anthony and calmed him down. He did an amazing job of it. We kept Anthony for the rest of the morning. Later, he got to go to the airshow with Tim and Vannan and some friends.

.....

Reminded me of the Christmas Eve we spent in the ER and Vannan got 7 stiches across her nose. Kids will be kids.
