Short Update

School kind of snuck up on me - I had lost track of time in the myrid days of coughing, sneezing, and feeling tired and miserable. I think most of us are on the mend - but we lost the last 2 weeks of vacation and boy are we feeling it now that school is back in session!

Of course with us homeschooling - we can roll with the punches. Thank goodness.

But we are a LONG way from being back into our schedule. For one thing, we are still oversleeping. The cold had us sleeping long hours, and not rising until 9 or 10 AM. YIKES. Basically, once the chill of the night passed, we finally were able to sleep and slept hard. Which started a cycle of not going to bed until the day's tasks were finished to get ready for Christmas - which put us later to bed and even later the next day to rise.

Well, Vannan seems to be getting into the groove of school the best - she's right on target with visions of plowing ahead for a long Easter break.

Kendra is STILL working on assignments from October. But as long as she is consistantly moving forward - I'm not too bent out of shape with that.

Joel is so far ahead of most 3 year olds with "school" stuff -that I'm really NOT worried. He loves to learn new things, and has such a fast and easy memory. He loves doing his worksheets and art projects though - so we'll keep working on that too. I'm really loving the new Horizon Preschool workbooks - it's the best program I've ever been able to use - and affordable. We only bought 1 set of teacher books for the 4 kids (Esther will go through these in 2 years after all).

So, hoping to get some pictures and such up tomorrow while we are doing Laundry. Thursdays and Mondays are my "slow" days. Tuesday and Friday my friend and her family come up for preschool, and then Wednesday we usually have to go to town early so we can be there for AWANA. Saturday, Tim is home and plays on the computer all day. Sunday we are all gone all day. What a short week!
