Our car accident made the news

Keeping overnight for observation

car accident

Kendra's writing this one:

Mom, Aunt Karen, Matthew, Joel, Esther, and LaRue were in a car accident this afternoon. They were hit by an 18-wheeller. I think they hit a pole 'cause they nocked out the electricity on the whole street. LaRue is in the most danger of all us. The truck driver is the one we are concerned about. They had a flight-to-life readdy to take him the moment they had him out. If he survives - well, he's going to get the blame, and probably loose his job.

They're taking LaRue to a bigger hospital. She's got a big bump on her head they're worried about. The car they were in was totalled. It got hit right where Joel was sitting. It's a miricle that's he survived as well as he did. Grandma took him to her house when they let him go with the instructions that she was to bring him back if he starts throwing up.

You know, this is a momentus occasion - Joel's finally been seen by a doctor.

I'm not sure what the conditions of Aunt Karen, Mattew, and Esther are.

We would appreciate prayers.

Harvest Fest Photo Shoot

Our special guest was our midwife.
She caught or helped deliver in some way every single one of these.

Awesome.

But how to get 9 kids ages 5 and under to all sit still and smile at the same?

Nobody cried - though I think a few wanted to.
And we did get everybody smiling ... just not all at the same time in the pictures I took.

Must find Daddy's camera and see what we got in the other set of pictures.

Harvest Fest Cakes

The "main cake" that Karen made.
It was a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting.

Kendra wanted to make the "special" cake.
For our special guest

It was regular frosting,
but Papa helped her cut it to make an "oreo" sandwich effect.

Good start on cake making.

Harvest Fest Kids Show

The kids wanted to do a show for the adults at the Eagle's Nest Family Harvest Fest.

So they sang introduction songs that they made up themselves.

Then Anthony and Kendra did a play that Anthony wrote ... with just a bit of help from Kendra.

Then the kids took turns singing...

Vannan sang "How Much is that Doggie in the Window" while the little ones wagged their tails and howled at the moon.
Marriana sang a solo ... so did Vannan and Anthony.

Everybody did "Don't be a Fly on the Ceiling"

Jori and Jordan sang a song from the Mulan play they were in this summer.

And Kendra introduced us to some alterations of some Santa Clause songs that she wrote.

She plans to talk about the play and her songs on her blog ... so I'll leave that to her.

LaRue Meets Mamaw

These pictures were taken at our Nov. 7 Family Harvest Fest.

We were really glad that Mamaw and Papaw and Uncle Roy were able to make it.

This was the very first time that Mamaw had seen LaRue - she enjoyed it very much.

Mamaw is my mother's mother - LaRue's Great Grandmother.

I was very glad that Mamaw was able to hold her for so long, and LaRue didn't cry for her.
Mamaw was delighted to finally see her, although for her she only remembers people when they are actually with her.

Marriana and Counting Lentils

Silly faces are contagious.

We practiced counting and fine motor skills.

And loved the sticky glue.
