Tim has not at all been himself since coming home from the hospital. His voice is high, he sleeps a lot, and he has been in near constant pain. Doctors continue to release him in spite of it. The kidney doctor says his kidneys are back to full function (prayer works miracles!) and the surgery doctor said that "some pain and discomfort are normal."
After doing a lot of research on the computer - it appears that the pain is from scar tissue and "not something to worry about". Tim says it hurts worse than before the operation at times. He sleeps sitting up in Dad's recliner, and the kids don't even give him hugs anymore because he yelps in pain.
In spite of that, Tim has reffed 2 volleyball games. An hour last week, and 3 hours last night. I do not know when the next game will be.
Kendra is now a fully published author. Her book is available in either Kindle or Paperback on Amazon - and I think she put in a link to create space as well on my sidebar. ... I know she has one on her sidebar at http://knittedbygodsplan.blogspot.com
Vannan hasn't been out to do her horse volunteering this month - they cancelled the volunteer program due to the extreme heat of temps above 100 and reaching above 110.
Joel is working on First Grade now. So far, we are still struggling to get into a pace - I know next week is going to be very hard as I have appointments 3 of the 5 days at 10am. (please keep me in your prayers). His favorite subject is United States. I found a simple little book and will introduce him to a new state every 3 school days. Friends on Facebook are sending him postcards and emails about their home states as we reach them and he is having a lot of fun learning about our states. Today we started Arizona - and a friend sent a road trip taken recently across the state - we are looking forward to figuring out where each roadsign is located on Mapquest ... as well, there are several scenic pictures to look at and find out more about. Contact me if you want to help us out with this project. We are doing the states alphabetically - so we have only completed Alabama and Alaska so far.
LaRue continues to keep us laughing. But the other day she suddenly asked to be taken to the potty - and she went! So over the last few days, she's been asking more and more often and with greater success. I've never had a child potty train herself before - and though I don't plan to push it - I really hope she continues this effort and we are diaper free soon. And she even remembers to flush and wash her hands!
We had a really high water bill the last month - and after a lot of searching - we found and repaired 3 of the 4 water leaks. The 4th one cannot be fixed until we get a new tiny hot water tank in my Dad's kitchen. This dought has us also doing a little extra watering. We are trying to keep our blueberries and the tomatos and herbs alive. I'm hoping we get a lot off of them as the temps cool down for the fall. Last year, we got a huge crop after the heat of summer, and until December. Anyone know how to keep tiny blueberries alive in the winter?
We are also doing a huge amount of shuffling right now. Wish I knew what to do with some of our stuff that we don't need and don't use, but it is still very usable. Would love to see some of it get new homes! Ask if you have a need - I might have it tucked around her somewhere - and if you will pay postage, I'll be happy to let it go. Rhoda is also selling a lot of children's items - but her stuff is up on Facebook right now. It amazes me how it never feels like much, until you try to take pictures of it all.
