Kendra's Dear Santa Christmas Wish List

As always ... this series of posts are for the people who usually ask about the kids likes and dislikes and wants and needs.  If you are not interested, this post is not aimed at you.  Of course, this concludes the 4 kids posts.  Although you could look at them as a way to get to know the kids better as well, their likes and interests have little to do with the random items that they come across as we peruse Amazon and the internet.

Here are the other 3's lists if you missed them ... so you don't have to go hunting.

LaRue's Wish List - http://weshallmountupwithwings.blogspot.com/2013/11/larues-dear-santa-wish-list.html

Kendra is now 18 and on her 3rd day of working ... she decided to join Vannan at McDonald's.  They are suppose to work matching hours and share the costs of the rides.   She has an absurdly LONG list of things she wants to buy with her hard earned money.  Her primary dream just now is writing books - being a fairly well known Christian author for the young adult and not quite adult age range.

Kendra's likes and dislikes and favorites have changed very little since she was about 4 or 5 years old.  She loves the color purple, although she also loves dark blue and fuchsia, Nutcrackers were her first love ... she discovered them at Christmas just before her 2nd birthday, and by the end of Christmas season, had watched several versions and had a favorite.  While she didn't remember them during the summer, come the following Christmas, she once again became a fan and Grammy collected and recorded several for her to watch all year long.  Her Aunt Rhoda always called her ladybug, and gave her ladybug items frequently.  By the time she was 3, she also had quite a collection of ladybugs.  Then one spring, just after her 4th birthday, Grammy took her to the zoo and she came home with plastic giraffes ... and the declaration that a giraffe was her favorite animal.  She's been collecting giraffes ever since.  I was relieved when she finally quit collecting "Blue's Clues" around the age of 10 ... about the time she finally discovered writing her dozens of stories onto paper was doable ... and much less work than begging Mom to write them all down for her.

She wears a size 9/10, and a size 8/9 shoe.  She's 5'1" on a "tall day".  She mostly wears bright vibrant colors - reds, blacks, dark blues, lemon yellow, forest greens, emerald greens, dark chocolate brown, purples, Hot pinks ... and the like.  She loves funky fuzzy fun socks - the wilder the better, and the same goes for hair decorations.  She has a TON of long hair and enjoys doing wild and unusual hair do's with it.

Kendra also has an Amazon wish list .... Kendra's Wish List
and there is a TON more ideas there than what I have listed here.

Wish #1 - Kindle DX

Yes - the BIG one ... she uses the Kindle to edit her books the final time - as it just looks differently in "book form" than sprawled into a a WORD document file.  And she uses the keyboard to enter editing notes.

Found on sale Thanksgiving Day and an Uncle helped her purchase it for herself.

Wish #2 - 10.5 inch Boogie Board and Accessories

This is for plotting books and ideas, or doing math homework.  She wants the BIG one so that she has more room to write.   This would be initial thinking since the notes cannot be saved - unless written onto a more permanent surface or typed into her computer.

Wish #3 - Large Dry Erase Board and Markers

Large glass surfaces work just as well - but she wants to put details from her current books in a place she can view easily .. Of course, somebody could come cut her chalk board in half and help install that onto her wall and she would be just as happy.   She just wants her notes in a highly viewable spot.

If you get the idea that she wants items to help her with her writing career mostly ... you would be correct!

Wish #4 - Costumes, Swords, and Knives

So she can dress up and act out her stories or create "ads" or book covers ... the more realistic the effort is in the first place, the better the end result .... and she would love a large variety of items to use.

Wish #5 - Snacks

She says, "I am a starving author after all" ... refering to her 16th birthday party.

We put a LOT of snacks on her wish list .... basically, NO dairy.  She prefers fruity and nutty snacks/candies.

She nibbles these while writing and sometimes rewards herself for finishing a difficult writing task.

#6 Wish - Stuff I collect - Ladybugs, Nutcrackers, Giraffes

Especially if it is clothing, jewelry, or useful items - tons of ideas on her Amazon Wish List .... She ESPECIALLY wants an ADULT sized Umbrella

She got the arm warmers!

#7 Wish - Aromatherapy and Health Care Items

She loves Aunt Rhoda's oils and Aromatherapy stuff (all of us do), and as she says, You can't really go wrong giving people stuff they can use up and not have to buy themselves.   She also now has her own tiny coffee pot in her bathroom and fixes herself a morning tea or chocolate or whatever strikes her fancy.  She is not overly interested in make-up or perfumed items.  Storage help for her bathroom would probably be appreciated as well.

#8  Wish - Computer Desk  - folding with a fan

So she can type in bed.  Back to her practical side thinking about writing her books.    (Bought it herself).

#9 wish -  DVD movies, Books, Computer Games, Board Games, Computer Graphics Software

She kind of just lumped all "entertainment" items in one fell swoop.  I'm only going to post a tiny few of them.  Of course, some of these she wants for ideas for writing, or to help with her book covers.

She got the two Mildred books and the set of Wrinkle in Time books.

#10 Wish - Lego Sets

While she DOES like legos ... primarily, she is trying to make little advertisement movies and mini movies of her books.   She's seen several neatly done with Lego sets and stop motion photography, and she would like to give it a go.

She is primarily interested in Medival Castle sets and Mini Figs.

Second hand and odd parts are welcome.
