The necklaces divided the kids up into 3 teams.
Pink Team |
Orange Team |
Green Team |
We sent them on a walk while we hid the map clue eggs.
I took this picture at full zoom. |
They were really, really FAR down the road. |
Then they had to stop and talk to the neighbor's horse. |
There were 3 colors of eggs.
Each team had to find 12 eggs of their own team color. |
The orange team finished first.
One Green egg and one pink egg had been hid on one of the cars ...
and I told the kids none were hid on the cars.
Slight misunderstanding ... but it took us a while to find those 2.
Even though they were VERY easy to see. |
Once they had all of the clues.
They glued their puzzle pieces together to find their map
to their treasure! |
The treasure was fruit.
The kids got to wash, peel, chop, and make
fruit salad.
The fruit was "mostly" the color of their team. |
meanwhile
We found the last two eggs,
and the younger two teams got to puzzle their maps together. |
The orange team was in the school room.
The green team was in MY kitchen. |
And the pink team was in Aunt Viv's kitchen. |
We tried to pick "easy" fruit. |
Younger kids used "butter" knives.
And the older ones had parring knives.
They did a splendid job.
And then we ate the 3 bowls of fruit instead of ice cream
with Rue's cake. |
