Vannan Home
So .... here is what happened.
Vannan spends one day every week at an equestrian therapy center. Sometimes she helps with the classes and sometimes she works with the horses and sometimes she does training classes for either the horses or the volunteers.
Today, she had just finished a session where she sidewalks a student, and had gone to a class to learn about how to treat a hurt horse.
Mrs. M said that she was watching the students, looked down to pick up the horses hoof, looked up and V was fainting straight over backwards. Then she had a seizure. They called an ambulance and was taken to the hospital.
Five hours later, we brought her home - with instructions to watch for further seizures or blacking out. Tests came out fine - so did the CAT scan. She has abrassions and soreness on one elbow, one ankle, and up her back from her seat up to the lower skull - she should be pretty bruised tomorrow.
No one is quite sure what caused her to faint in the first place, there was some question as to whether the seizure caused the black out or the blow to her head with the fall caused the seizure. Her blood sugar was low, and she said she was tired, but didn't take time to sit down for a few minutes and get a drink before going to her next activity, and she's not been sleeping really well, and the is one of the times of year her allergies bother her the most. This is not the first time that V has pushed herself beyond or right up to her limits. And she was doubly excited that she would get to spend the entire day there today.
The people she works with were great, even have called and checked on her, and Mrs. M rode with her and stayed with her until I got there.
Keep her in your prayers - and us too.

LaRue "helping" Joel do his school work.
Such a patient big brother.
They sure love each other a lot. |
Joel got water beads for Christmas. He has LOVED playing with these.
He made designs, made them bounce, squished a few, put different amounts of water in each jar to see how much water they could absorb, and how big the bubbles would get.
LaRue cleaned out her kitchen supplies.
Not everything belongs in that box.
Joel discovered that fully grown water balls, make great magnifying glasses.
He also compared what his water balls were doing, with the reflection of things he saw in the water.
Then he showed Rue all of the exciting things his colorful balls could do. She was amazed.
Then they spent time watching Magic School Bus again.
And again.
And again.
Aunt Viv gave them a box, and they still enjoy making up adventures. Joel put all kinds of buttons and knobs on the box. I think it's a magic science box.
Rue feeding the dog.
Rue with her favorite toy.
I downloaded and converted almost a dozen Strawberry Shortcake movies for her to watch. She loves those! Along with dozens of Winnie the Pooh, and a variety of other shows. She really needs a 32GB card in her toy - the 8GB is full!
She is really into Strawberry Shortcake. She found a little pink "lunch sack" with a Strawberry Shortcake on it ... and it is her favorite thing - she fills it up with toys and carts it around. This is her favorite show http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gstdK9PCqLQ
