When I got to the hospital today, Tim was already back in the prepping area for his surgery. It was a long wait, and I forgot to bring anything to do.
But finally the doctor brought us the news.
The surgery had gone very good - in fact, better than we expected.
The goal was to put a stint in the spot that was 70% blocked, that they hadn't fixed during the last surgery, only it was enough improved (yes! IMPROVED!) that they felt it wasn't going to need a stint there.
So, they looked at the spot of the last heart attack - that 100% blocked spot. You remember that after the heart evaluation, they had deemed it not worth reopening?
Well, it was opening up! So the doctor put the stint into THAT spot instead.
Dr. said, If Tim has chest pains again like this, he'll run a full stress test first. It appears that his heart is adapting and regaining usage.
Amazing news. God is good!
Tim has really tried hard to follow all of the diet recommendations above and beyond.
Down side, his blood sugar was up a little. So we'll have to work on the diet more - he probably needs to cut down on the "dried fruit" a little more, because as far as I know, he's not got much sugar in his diet anymore - just juice and the dried fruit mostly.
When we went back to the room, Tim was far more alert than after his previous surgery, and his color was better (from my perspective). He's looking forward to watching Mavs on TV tonight.
And, LaRue did great without me - though she's been more clingy since getting back home. The very first thing she did was nurse and nap. And when Joel woke her up a little, I laid down with her and fell right to sleep - must have slept at least an hour.
