Topsy Turvey Upset

The last few days have been a huge amount of work without much obvious success.  We’ve managed to take 3 desks and all the school books next door to the school room.  You would think we would notice that there are things missing.  Not so.  Can’t miss a thing and it’s getting worse!

First we moved the buffet against the window where the girls desks were located – but we put the 2 BIG plants from Mom’s funeral on top instead of my shelf with jars of beans and pasta – which have been squeezed into the small amount of pantry I had made out of our cabinets – no such thing as stocking up in this house!  But I think in a pinch – we could go 2 weeks.

Next we moved the school cabinet over to where the buffet had been, trying to keep the front door unblocked.

Next move involved my desk over to the other side of the living room.  Tight squeeze.  Now there was no walk way between my desk and the couch.  And there is only room enough in Joel’s room for one child to happily play – and we had 5 now in there twice a week.  It wasn’t working.  Joel’s play area needed to grow.

So I planned to move things around today and make the play area bigger – but we found much bigger problems!  The wall under the window has been leaking (our 5th spot – 2nd BIG spot) – and the wall was WET and moldy – and so was the leg of the bed.  Sigh.

Finally, after much discussion – we put some silver insulation between the bed and the wall and moved it over a foot or so – bigger room for Joel.  We’ll put the 2 bookshelves back and find a new home for the couch – we just won’t be able to watch movies on TV anymore.  Not that the TV is working very well anyway…. Nor do we have time to watch many.  Mostly it plays educational stuff for the kids – history, science, phonics, math … and toddler / preschool stuff.  Right now it’s playing Baby Einstein – and nobody is watching.  I thought about turning it off, but I’m enjoying the music.

Pray  for us – this moving things around has been very stressful today.  The girls wanted to go swim, but didn’t get a chance.

I’ll be 32 weeks tomorrow.  LaRue moves a lot still, but stays head down most of the time I think.  Still flips when she wants to.

School starts Monday.  We hope to have a schedule by then.  or maybe shortly thereafter.
