Vannan had a "Royal Princess Tea Party" for her 12th birthday this last Saturday.
As the princesses (and we had 2 4 year old princes) came to the party, they could make crowns and glittery braceletts.
Then we played "Cinderella Shoe Scramble" and "Pin the Steam on the Teapot".
Kendra entertained with a seldom heard fairy tale about a princess, followed about a story Vannan liked about a tea party.
Next we talked about tea party manners - the kids were all giggling at some of the suggestions.
Finally, the big girls helped the little kids get plates of fun foods and then went back to serve themselves while we waited for Vannan's candles to arrive at the party.
We almost forgot the presents, we were having so much fun. Her favorites were $30 for her rabbits, as 3 seperate gifts, a set of hats, and a book about raising Barnyard animals. She got a lot of other small gifts - a book about foals, pencil bags, "Dead Man's Chest" DVD, and sheets. Some stuff she got later, but the givers were at the party.
We had a great time with all the kids and grown ups that came to the party. And the best gift of all was that several of the ladies stayed long enough to help us get the party stuff cleaned up and packed and put away - especially since Kendra and Vannan had been invited to watch a play by another friend that had been unable to come to the party because she was IN the play. The play was Mulan.
A full set of pictures from the party is up on our Picasa site.

I'm having a lot of trouble posting pictures lately, but hope that the higher speed internet (when we do get it) will help. We are on the waiting list to be put on the waiting list for hook ups.
