A RAINBOW Fun Birthday Party
The first game
was
hunting for frozen rainbow pieces.
AKA = frozen water balloons
Only, it wasn't a very hot day - low 90's by the party end,
and the balloons came loose from the frozen balls.
Still,
the kids had a great time hunting for the frozen balls.
Well, Most of the kids had fun.
Most of the balls had their balloon skin when we hid them,
but the skin came loose as the kids picked them up.
They were fascinated.
And yes, we did have to stop a few boys from
throwing the water balloons.
OUCH
We froze 100 water balloons.
So there were plenty to find!
Only 2 of the friends that were invited showed up.
And only one set of the relatives,
probably because they lived next door.
Maybe one other sister showed up ...
oh yes,
toward the end of the party ...
and stayed the rest of the day!
But those who did show up,
had a blast.
And then they hung the bags in the trees and had fun standing under the drips. |
Meanwhile,
the second planned activity...
was
making a tie dye shirt.
Or for those who failed to bring a shirt,
we had some wash rags.
I needed to replace the ones in the kitchen drawer anyway.

Soaking in Washing Soda
so the colors will set.

This was her cake,
a white fluffy cloud.
Actually ... cool whip!

We always put a pair of socks into the bottom of the trays ...
and then we have fun tie dyed socks!

Vannan enjoyed opening her presents.
She got a lot of stuff from the C. family.
I picked up a book for her off of PaperBack Swap.
All of our book points are gone now.
Do you think she liked it? |
Grandma and Grandpa had dropped off a huge bag of stuff for her as well. |
I have nearly a dozen pics of her emptying that bag. |
Julia made her a hat.
COOL!
Her friend across the street made her a bag.
and filled it full of goodies.
OH she LOVED that bag!
and all of the goodies! |
With the presents opened
all 5 of them ... but she did get two more later,
a purse and some cash.
we moved on to the best part...
the CAKE.
The poor plain whipped cream topped cake.
She loved it.
Man,
she must be getting OLD.
Blow HARD!
I think the kids helped too.
Do you know that birthday cake is the only food,
that people encourage you to germ up,
and then beg to eat?
She got all but one candle.
And it just wouldn't stay blown out.
Oh WOW
once the cake was cut,
we found a rainbow of flavors inside.
Glorious.
And DELICIOUS!!!
Not such a plain cake after all..
Huh?
Vannan said it was a WONDERFUL party,
and loved every minute of it.
The kids don't get much social time
except for church
since we live way out in the country,
so a party is a HUGE treat for their birthday.
We try to keep it simple,
and the cost down.
I think we put $20 into this party.
Plus ingenuity and tons of giggles.
I hope you enjoyed your time at our party.
And it's not too late to tell her happy 15th birthday
if you want to COMMENT
at the bottom of this post.
Wish you could have all been here to enjoy the fun
and eat the cake with us.
It was the best treat of the whole party!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
How do these kids get so big so fast.
LaRue will be 3 in just a few more weeks.
Unbelievable.
She's planning a
Pink Sparkle Party
on Oct. 27.
With a chocolate cake with Pink icing!
