About 8:40 ... from our BFF Steve ....
Tim just went in. Joyce & I prayed, y'all do too.
Surgeon showed up early, was mad Tim wasn't ready yet. A leisurely time later he was, then the surgeon couldn't be found. Tim said he hopes the man calms down before he picks up the scalpel.
They say it will take an hour, surgeon said half an hour, they're not going to make incisions, rather 4 small holes.
I'll keep watch with Joyce until at least Tim comes out & seems settled.
Courage! Pray!
Later: about 9:30
Just talk to the doctor about 10 minutes ago, tim came through his surgery great. There was bleeding more than usual but not nearly as much as they had feared might be possible. He will be in the recovery room for about an hour and then we will see him up here. I'm waiting with joyce in the room now. He will feel sore for about a week, but he is not restricted from anything. His sutures are all internal and self dissolving. His appendix was not highly infected or swollen, so his risk of infection and subsequent long hospital stay seems low at this point.
About 10:30
I called up there. Tim was just getting settled into the room. He didn't want to talk to anybody. They will make him sleep for about 6 hours because of the pain. Then if everything looks fine tomorrow, they MIGHT send him home tomorrow sometime, and they MIGHT keep him until the following morning.
Personally, I would prefer if they kept him.
Then he will likely go stay with his parents for a few days - to rest, heal, and be in a much cooler place.
Keep praying for healing. His immune system is not the best with all he's been through this spring and summer.
