Cousin Terrie gifted Joel with a surprise Pinata.
Game 2 went like this...
See, the pigs are really getting sneaky -
so they hid a bomb in the bird's yard
(we had balloon birds all over the play yard)
and they had to find it and destroy it.
The kids sat there blankly staring about.
Kendra picked up one of the candy baskets and
said, "Look for something like this"
And 3 seconds later they turn their heads
and look at the "bomb".
Ok, they will play along.
Matthew yells, "There it is!"
Joel went first - I videoed it.
and then Matthew
The kids stood WAY BACK on the swing sets to watch the action.
Which was a good thing,
because twice the bat escaped hands and went flying.
Shi was next.
They got in some really GOOD blows ...
but ...
We gave Marriana a big stick
that bat was HEAVY.
and let her go without the blind fold.
and then Vannan had a go ---
none of the other little wanted anywhere near it!
And about her 3rd swing, she caught it from the top as it was swinging back toward her and it landed PLOP on the ground.
It didn't even crack.
The handle had come off.
She tilted her head - she said she had the merest sliver of ground visible
and caught sight of the ball.
Whereupon ...
"It's DEAD!"
We kept telling her.
It took us some effort to get her to stop beating it.
and she came close to getting a few of the littles who
were DIVING for those goodies.
Steve stopped the bat
and grabbed up the ball
with the result that the candy and goodies scattered.
Joel rapidly resorted to grabbing the remains
to use as a basket to put his treasures inside.
After he had his egg basket
he then put the soccer ball on his head as a hat.
It was so funny.
But I had the video camera on again.
