Kendra has a theory about why baby LaRue is so late. ... Thought we'd share it because it was kinda funny - and pretty true.
Some people know that we named each of our children after a grandparent.
Kendra was named for Tim's Dad - Ken. Grandpa Ken is NEVER LATE - usually early, and first in line. Kendra was my earliest baby, broke her water before she was in a good position to be born, barely past the legal 37 week mark. (Not sure why she is always late now ... but there you have it.)
Vannan was named for my Dad - Vernon .... Vannan / Vernon kind of a slant rhyme. Papa is ON TIME. Vannan was born 2 days after her due date. Basically ON TIME.
Joel was named for Tim's Mom. Grandma Joyce L. If you drop the yc out of her name, it spells Joel. Grandma Joyce is usually with Grandpa and EARLY. If she's not with Grandpa, she still tends to be early or on time. Joel almost made it to 38 weeks.
Now... LaRue is named after my MOM. Ruedean. Anybody who knew my mom knows that she had a reputation for being LATE. Sometimes VERY LATE. So little LaRue is just following Grammy Rue's example and arriving late. I'm sure she will, like my mom, make a good entrance. (Although I doubt she'll be bringing a cake that will be the envy of all and the delight of the party.)
So, what do you think? Good theory?
Kendra seems spot on! Good theory and thanks for explaining the names - I vowed the exact opposite - we would NOT name them after family at all :)
