Toward the end of our unbelievably HOT and DRY summer
we had a big storm
the kind you hide from.
Wind blew
Power bounced
I think we even ended up without water that night.
The next morning,
we looked at the damage
Branches down all over
but all had missed our homes.
Branches on a fence
you can see our peppers through the fence.
This beauty berry bush is usually 3 or 4 times this size
It had been twice as leafy before the storm.
Also a branch landed on top of it.
Lots of broken limbs
Electric lines run just above this.
Surprisingly, most of the limbs were on the smaller size
two kids working together
were able to clear most of them.
The wind blew hard enough to knock some of those branches
tips against the windows.
And the rain poured off of the roof so hard that it damaged the
tomatoes.
But our herbs really seemed to enjoy the
hard rain.
and this tree lost another part of it's top.
We were blessed that it landed on top of the already down branch
and did no further damage to the roof.
A lot of trees look like this
just a trunk.
And all over
brown leaves cover the ground.
