Things have been hectic around here. But I'm beginning to think this will be normal.
General News:
We are coming up on our next Family Reunion for my Mom's side of the family. Cousins are setting up plans to stay with local relatives. Dad's house is booked already for that week in June.
On my Dad's side of the family, people are coming in for my cousin MI's graduation. Since Papa and Meme are going down, Kendra and Vannan were invited to join them. They are so excited!
We stopped by to see Mamaw today. She is looking so much better! Amazing what healthy food, being clean, and a stable environment will do for a person. Talking to her is getting to be more and more difficult. When I asked her about her lunch that she was eating, she started off on a story, I'm not 100% sure, but it almost sounded like she was telling me that these saucers fly into her room, and when she pushes a button the top pops off and she has hot food. She has to eat whatever surprise it brings because she doesn't get a choice. But she liked the chicken on today's plate. ... And she is not at Regional. She gets moved tomorrow to the rehab nursing home. Continued prayers for her health and Papaw to allow her to be better taken care of than what he can manage.
Across the yard, Rhoda is heavily promoting her new business. She has a blog http://healingforlifewithoils.blogspot.com to go with it. We celebrated Bali's 4th birthday on Friday night - splendid party. Grub 1 turned 10 last month.
Ruth is heavily involved with her Mona Via business as well. She and Rhoda seem to exchange a great deal of babysitting. It certainly is a lot of fun when all 12 of the grand kids are up here at the same time.
Karen and Steve are making headway at getting enough things set back up in their home to be able to live there. Beds are up - but they can't find the box of cooking pots and pans (one of many "missing" boxes). They also need the computer table set up and Steve's chair (where he sleeps because of problems with his hip). They are in need of some strong lifter and mover guys to volunteer their services. Prayers for them, Karen is close to exhaustion some nights, and B has taken to getting up to roam the house multiple times each night, not just her usual once or twice.
LaRue is completely potty trained. Shocking to me, under 2 weeks for most of it. We still put a pull up on for outings and bedtime, but most of the time it stays dry. Since she insists on wearing panties under the pull up, we are able to reuse the same one several times. She opens door knobs and gates, turns on the TV by herself, and climbs all sorts of things. She is so looking forward to Pre-school this fall. Her favorite subject is cutting.
Joel is practically finished with first grade. He reads at a near mid 2nd grade level when he is of mind to do so. He's doing borrowing and carrying in math. He's still got to finish the activities and verses in his Cubbie books, and has a few stories left in one of his readers. He loves helping around the house, and gets very upset if somebody does his job instead of waiting for him to get around to it.
Vannan is loving her weekly volunteer work out at the horse therapy place. They seem to like her out there too - because they gave her one of the biggest two horses to take care of and keep tacked when they did their big open house last month. I'll eventually post pictures. She is about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way through 8th grade. And she loves working on her blog http://makingmeaservant.blogspot.com
Kendra is on the verge of publishing her second book, and is working on several other books as well. She has started 11th grade. She has been blogging regularly at http://knittedbygodsplan.blogspot.com .... Check out her author page on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/author/kendraeardnek . Be sure to hit the LIKE button while you are there, and share it with your friends!
Tim is still doing his Sunday Radio shows. He spends quite a few hours each week preparing for each show. Recently, he asked a friend to co-host with him. ... Some have asked about his health. He did well during the basketball season, as long as he didn't overdo the games, he was able to ref at least one or two every night. But as the weather gets hotter, he's been more lethargic. Standing for more than 10 or so minutes leaves him light headed. He has always done better in cooler and drying climates.
Meanwhile, I'm working on a new blog http://eaglenestmom.blogspot.com/. Feel free to share it - as it is set up to be quite public. My cousin has also graciously allowed me to write book reviews with her for her blog - http://oscarlettreviews.blogspot.com/. Otherwise, I stay pretty busy. I was delighted to see last month, that enough people had purchased items through my Amazon links, that we had gained $14! We don't get it until June or July - but I'm still very excited!
Only other excitement, other than snakes eating our baby bunnies last month, is our AC connector burning out Friday night. The AC is back up and running - so happy for that. But it really cuts into our tiny funds to keep ourselves fed and needs met. Please keep Tim's job situation in your prayers. Even if the government no longer counts him as being unemployed ... he actually is still looking actively for a job. God provides in his time.
