12/24 - Christmas Eve

See the bike below?

It's the same as the one above.

Kendra brought it home from where it had been "living"
and Uncle Terry fixed it up.

Just wait til you see Joel's reaction!

Still painting.

Still making flowers.

She's got this song and dance down PAT.

And don't even THINK about helping!

Some play - a boy and his dog.

Joel wanted his rug..

Toffee wanted her bed...

We put a tree up next door for Steve and Karen and the kids.

It's not "real"

but hoping it made their bleak Christmas feel
a bit more normal.

Matthew had a great deal of fun putting up the Nativity.

And everyone was facing the Christ Child.

12/23 Elves in the workshop

We put candy on Miya's shirt.

Do you remember how pretty the back was?

Well, the front was not so nice.

But Miya loved the candy!

Give me your BEST SILLY FACE!

What's really scary .... the amount of dirt on Joel's shirt!

Grub 2 made a fishing pole for his Dad.

He had really thought about what he wanted to make/give his parents.
I brought them over to make something.

He also did up a "Chocolate Stress Relief" package for his Mom.

Grub 3 painting.

Rue loves straws.

Some more of the shirts we painted to make them cuter after
they either didn't do well in front

or the colors didn't hold.

Esther's

Grub 1 making his Mom a necklace!

Isn't it pretty!

Oh my!  I should have fixed the red eye.

Things waiting to be chosen to paint or work on

and waiting to be wrapped.

12-22 Another Day of our Life

We wanted to find little rubber duckies
but ended up with frogs instead ...

One for each Spa Basket.

They went well with the box of
frog soaps that I found when we pulled
out our soap stuff.

We also got each of them a pen.

For the fun of it.

These 4 go to the Grubs and Bali.

Shi's and Miya's.

Gifts stacked up.

Some of these were removed and taken to the Papa party.

Kendra was still making necklaces.

And then somebody dropped off a large bag
of gifts at Rhoda's church for us.

We don't know who.

Rhoda was given a name,
but it wasn't one she recognized
and the phone is fuzzy so she wasn't sure
if she heard right.

Packages were marked "from Jesus".

Totally unexpected.
Total blessing.

So Kendra "hung us a tree".

There still wasn't room for a proper one,
but I hadn't cut up the garland yet.

A project that Mom helped me get the parts for 4 years ago.

Some more of Joel's elf work.

LaRue LOVES my water bottle.

Then she was giggling and realized it made an echo.

And she sang and giggled and talked ...

and then I washed my water bottle.

After all, she was also eating cheerios.

Finally, about 11pm,
she decided that she was going to help
Joel with his projects.

I let her play with it all
for nearly an hour.

And took care of some thing I needed to get done
but it's not easy with a baby on your lap!

12/19 .. A Sunshiny Day

Bethie and LaRue are becoming best friends.

LaRue is smart enough to get into all kinds of trouble...
but lacks the ability to carry out most of it.

Bethie is capable of doing much ... but usually
can't think to do it.

Combination result -
LaRue thinks up things for them to do,
And Bethie helps get it done.

I don't remember what he was doing ...

But I love the picture.

We were inspired to use our soap molds
to make lotion bars.

Worked really good!

Santa's Workshop
sure is cluttered.

Vannan still working on her flowers.

Kendra did about 80% of the wrapping.
