The Donut Man Birthday Party

 

We had a birthday party for Joel and Matthew (7) and Paul (2)

on May 5.

 

 

 

Rue wanted to wear Joel's fireman suit.

We had a good sized crowd, and the first game was a donut hunt.

Everyone grabbed a stick, and started hunting for the cardboard donuts that Joel cut out for the past 2 weeks.

Aunt Cindy made him a special shirt, from This Ones Mine.

Some of the donuts were a real challenge to find or retrieve.

It was a HOT day. Really hot for the beginning of May.

For Game 2 We made a circle, and had a donut toss.   Some of the kids enjoyed this for 20 or more minutes.

Others climbed trees.

Game 3 Decorated Donut Contest.   Everyone brought a pre-decorated donut. The only rule was it had to be made from things you had in your house or yard.

Later, Joel, Matthew, and Paul got their gifts.

Joel's best gift was his flashlight.

Matthew got a lot of the same stuff ... since most of it was from his parents.

One cousin got Joel a water gun!

Much to Joel's dismay, he was allowed to open 1item, and the rest had to wait for his "real" birthday.

Paul got a lot of gifts much more than just a crayon book. LaRue had 2, so she gave 1 to Paul.

We had donut cakes. If you have ever watch Donut Man videos, you know that a donut makes him sad, because it is like a heart without Jesus.   So we made little Jesus Loves Me cakes, to repair their donuts.   You can find Donut Man online. He has a website, and videos on Youtube.

The BIG GIFT of the day, Matthew got a Brand New Boy Bike!

Papa got the 3 boys each a tractor.

Most of the kids went outside to eat their cake and ice cream.

Aunt Cindy made party favors. HUGE hit!

One of the Uncles brought the girls each a birthday gift as well.   Bracelets and Watches.

Later, a friend who missed the party dropped off some trucks.         THANK YOU to everyone who came   and   THANK YOU for the gifts!!!!
