Sep 11 - LaRue Playing

She loves playing with Toffee.

Vannan and Aunt Cindy made this little gown.
Isn't it CUTE!

This is one of my major favorite cute dresses.
Aunt Cindy made it.

It was so comfortable, that by the end of summer,
she was pulling it out to wear all by herself.

Aunt Cindy has her own Etsy Store - This Ones' Mine
And a Facebook page by the same name.

She's got some great deals posted on her FB business page.

Santa / Wish List Update

According to what "Santa" has whispered to me ... I've edited the kids lists, because folks are asking.

Yes, My big girls READ the blog ... so

I hope the girls have enough self control to NOT click through for hints.  They are usually pretty good - AND not everything is ON their lists that has been whispered.  And they still won't know what form the crossed off items will arrive as .... or from whom, or when,  You both have a birthday sooner or later .... Can you believe Kendra is almost 16?

So  Kendra and Vannan ... DO NOT read this.  Ok?  You'll find out in 4 weeks.

so  ....  If you are one of the ones still asking .... check here first.

http://weshallmountupwithwings.blogspot.com/2010/10/dear-santa-er-wish-lists.html

And remember - we are perfectly fine with hand me downs, garage sale finds, and home made.   You just might have some jeans that would fit Kendra that you can't wear, or some old flannel gowns ... or books about animals for Vannan or size 8AA shoes for church ... or maybe you've got a toy organizer that didn't work in your car sitting in your garage for Joel, or left over diapers from when your baby was small for Ruezy .... those are all on the wish lists. .... And while we don't believe in Santa around here ... we firmly believe that God will supply those things on their lists that they truly need, and often he provides things that just make them smile ... Don't we as parents like to give gifts to our children just to see them smile?

And if anyone else wants to whisper items, I'll take those off too.

And just for the record, Tim and I are not able to buy Christmas this year, I'll be scaling the Christmas card way back even - and I've always loved doing those.  It's been a tough year for my family, not just the 6 of us, but my sister's and all too.  Blessings aplenty, always God has met our needs, we've never gone hungry or without clothes or shoes, never had anything huge happen to our home or car.  So we are not begging here .... but I'm not going to say we're all fine and dandy either and go run up credit cards to pretend that we are doing fine.   After our accident last year and the death of our mom earlier that year, the whole Christmas season was kind of surreal and honestly, I don't remember it.  I look at pictures and I know it happened - but it's like I'm looking at somebody else's pictures.   Don't worry - I'm fine - it's just the way my brain deals with things.

Best Christmas gift any of us could possibly receive is a job for Tim - one that he smiles to go to.   Please keep us in your prayers.

And may God bless you all during this Christmas Season as we celebrate the birth of our Saviour ....  Because Isn't THAT what it's really all about?

Road kill

Sept 30 - Hand Me Downs

Late Spring,
Aunt Cindy made a whole bunch of clothes for the nieces.

This dress was made for Miya.
She just handed it down to LaRue.
Isn't it CUTE.

She wasn't walking yet.
But she started cruising around 8 1/2 months.

She started walking the last week of October -
I wrote it down in Facebook ...
somewhere.

So Vannan remains my earliest walker,
and Joel my latest walker.

LaRue and Kendra pretty much tied
at about 2 weeks past their first birthday's.

Joel was nearly 15 months old.
I wasn't in any rush.

Late Sept - Learning LaRue

Learning to feed herself
by snitching Mom's plate and eating the crumbs.

Unpacking the clothes that we need to go through
for her to grow into.

She was in 12 month then - she is now in 18 month.
I'm not sure if she will make it until March to move up to the next size,
but we have plenty of winter clothes to move her into!

THE CAR SEAT IN THE BACKGROUND IS FOR SALE.

Learning to write on paper.
(She is also learning NOT to write on walls, floors, and books.)

Playing Games.

Joel made this matching game all by himself.
It was all about feelings.

Sept 27 - What happens when Mom is Sick in Bed

Well, I was asleep.
So who was watching the kids?

I was responsible for Joel having a cute stamper marker.
And I DID show him how it stamped by stamping the back of his hand...

It was all gone after bath time.

Sept. 25 - Vannan's Birthday Party

Vannan's birthday is actually in July - early July.

BUT it is HOT in July. Like 100 every day hot.

And Vannan wanted to have a barn raising work day for her party.

So we delayed her party until Sept. 25.
She was super excited.

Except that on Sept. 24, I got sick, very sick.
104 deg. sick.
Sleep because I can't do anything else sick.
Chills, Fever, Sore Throat, and Food is Yucky Sick.

Due to the fact that it looked like rain,
nobody had really mentioned that they were coming,
other than my sister Ruth,
and we didn't have the money to buy the supplies to do the fence

We cancelled the party.

Except Ruth uncancelled it.
And even though really she was the only one that did come
we had a cake.

Kendra made the cake.

I kind of felt bad,
because we had given Kendra a HUGE surprise party when she turned 13.

Maybe next year.

New Carseats - Sept 22

For LaRue's combined birthday/Christmas,
Tim's parents bought LaRue a new car seat.

Per the newer recommendations,
she will remain backwards a while longer -
besides, she about came unglued riding forward in Dad's Yukon.

She loves giggling at the back seat riders,
and this seat is a bit higher,
so she can see outside better.

We stuck Marriana in for size
and she fit quite nicely.

So until LaRue hits 35 lbs,
she can sit right there.

Downside - our LATCH system is behind Tim.

The plus side ... we didn't adjust his seat at all when we installed the carseat.

We upgraded Joel into Grub 1's old carseat.
Since he had already moved into a booster seat, this is the ONLY carseat
that missed out in Rhoda's accident.

And Marriana got Joel's old seat.

Kendra and Vannan were too big for car seats.

Mommy practice

Days In Kindergarten - September

Working on pictures "All about ME".
There is a poem there from the Horizon Kindergarten Health book.

I can't figure out why only Marriana got a picture that day.
I'm not at all busy.
"wink"

Joel teaching Marriana.
These are just some old workbooks that Mom had picked up somewhere.
Joel has a blast teaching Marriana.
She seems to enjoy the extra attention.

Shi working on her traffic light.

Miya practicing the stairs.

More 11 Month Old Pictures of LaRue

Kendra started taking LaRue's picture with Jess after we saw "Happy Housewife" do this with her baby.

I LOVE that look on her face.

That is a grin that I've seen in many of my baby pictures.

I just wish I could find one to see if I remember right.

Sept. 17 - LaRue at 11 Months

Those are among her FAVORITE toys.
It's a big stack of them,
each is smaller than the one before.

And it really stimulates the imagination.

Sept 15 - LaRue plays in the cabinets

Vannan did this when my parents installed these in Colorado in 1999.

Rhoda's boys did this while the cabinets lived at my parents house for 8 years.

Joel did this once my Dad put them into my house again.

And now LaRue is doing it.

So why do babies love to open a cabinet and just SIT there in the doorway?

But it is cute to watch.

And now she enjoys pulling cans out and rolling them under the cabinet.

Kendra Cooking - Sept.

One of the blogs that Kendra enjoys is the Pioneer Woman.

So, here she is, trying to imitate her style.

Chopping garlic.

And peppers that we grew in our own garden.
It's about the ONLY sucess we had this year.

Mixed in the pan with ground hamberger and refried beans.

And an avacado.

This is one of Kendra's favorites.

I think she plans to blog about it too -
so I won't spoil the surprise of the seasoning.
